If you had reasonable space, time and money to collect something (baseball cards, animated bunnys, high heeled shoes), what would you collect?

His Grace answered without the slightest hesitation "Arms and armor. Ancient, modern all of them."

I am still thinking about it.

I have a serious case of the weird. As I accused my daughter yesterday "You have a weirdass mother!" She didn't even deny it.
The Duke and I bathed the bulldog at 5:50am this morning. It's a longish but boring story, so I shall leave you to imagine something more interesting.
Painting many mech's. Breathed a LOT of thinner fumes cleaning them. Perhaps I have damaged my brainy-brain. ah well, too late now.
Already putting up Halloween decorations. Found gel clings for the front window of bloodly hand prints with spats and drips. Joy.
May organize saltines with my toes later. Tra-la-la-la-la!

girl update

she is rockin' up Takwando. Master Cho is a very good teacher and yet mean and funny. Like Balfar in a tiny Korean package. Its rocking funny

For her B-day the girl got da-da-dah! an extreme room makeover!

So we have painted her walls in the color she picked (purple), put up a border (ivy), got her a new bed (black iron daybed) and mattress (serta plush, blessed be sleepys clerance sales!), 2 new bookcases, a rug (dark teal), a new lamp, a shelf (to be finished), and I sewed a triangle hammock (batiked deep blue) for the stuffies. Plus new curtain rods (w/ivy ends), curtains (sheer green w/ivy pattern), two sets of sheets (spring green and black), wastebasket, comforter(black) and extra pillowcases. AND Z made her a humming bird from stained glass and it matches really well.

Exhausting amounts of work, pretty evenly distributed by ability, but she is one really happy girl. It was so much work, but is apparently one of the bestest birthdays Evah!

We're also having her friends over for pizza and cake later in the month. Indulgo-parents Activate!

She has her school schedule and starts learning Italian this year. And Honors Chemistry has somehow changed to AP Chemistry. She was shocked. I'm smug. I had nothing to do with it, but I think she can do it and suspect the teacher changed it.

Work continues. Pain goes on. Critters are ok, tho Harry had a scary, painful and expensive urinary blockage. He's still recovering and the vet has ordered canned food only! Boris has stoppped leaving the kitchen and has gain 5 lbs. I need to buy this stuff in giant cans, they're going thru 3 cans a day and only stop because they don't have thumbs.
Harry was down to 11lbs, but is steadily eating and at last check was 11.4 lbs. He'll be fine, but he is the most expensive free cat ever.

well it's almost iDay. And the iFrenzy is about to start. I'm kinda in iDon'tCare mode. But my kiddo would LOVE an iPhone soooo much. So I told her the price of the gadget, the cost of the plan and she figured out her odds of getting it.

She bummed but is thinking about asking for it for Xmas knowing it would be the Only thing she'd get. I find it hard to believe she wants it that much, but if she'll take it as her only Xmas goodie, then that pretty serious. We've decided she's going to research it, check lots of reviews and blogs and play with on in a store once the initial buying spree is over.

Told her I think thats a great idea and she should also consider loss/theft/damage potential and what she could do to mitagate those risks.
Kinda neat watching her do a fairly complex cost/reward/risk evaluation.

The man just got a new uber sturdy cell as her needs on for work and we found a good deal. I, on the other hand, have had our battered and broken RAZR replaced via insurance.
Realized this is my 2nd new cell phone. I've rolled about 8 leases (Mom is also on our plan) but someone else has always needed the phone more than me. So I'm all excited with my (n)used toy and have been playing with it. Since its so mainstream I can even buy dress up clothes (snap on faceplates) for it. It's totally goofy but making me way happy. I even plan on making myself a custom fob for it. I haven't named it yet, but it's getting close. * grin *
